Treasurer
This is an Officer role holding a Trustee position and is a mandatory committee role.

Responsibilities

  • To manage the BandD U3A financial accounts.
  • To prepare monthly financial reports for the committee meetings and for audit by the Independent Examiner and then to members for approval at the AGM.
  • To liaise with the GOs for banking their group subscriptions.
  • To arrange payments for monthly speakers and other cashflow requirements.
  • To provide Year End Financial Statement and Gift Aid submissions.
  • To keep the Chairman and Committee informed of financial movements on a regular basis throughout the year, as appropriate.
  • To liaise with the Membership Secretary regarding members’ subscriptions and Gift Aid.
  • Be aware of any safeguarding issues that may arise and follow through the appropriate channels as deemed necessary for resolution.

Commitment

  • 2hrs once a month to attend a committee meeting.
  • An average to 3 hours per month for managing the accounts.

Skills Required

  • Good with working with numbers.
  • Basic computer literacy with internet access, ability to send/receive emails, ability to use spreadsheets or accounting software and familiarity with on-line banking.
