The canalised River splits in to two parts in the Beeleigh area the river passes over a couple of weirs before joining the tidal section, the other section passes through a lock to another weir where it is joined by the River Blackwater. The weir allows more water to enter the tidal system withthe canal continuing on to Heybridge basin. This a a picture of the weit and pool where the Chelmer becomes tidal. 20221118.
