Actionfraud police web site | This link is to the Actionfraud police web site which gives details of different types of scams, including current ones. It is worth a look from time to time as this will help you keep up with what is going on. At the bottom of the first page in the site there are clickable links to details of various types of frauds. The linked web page has a number of 'tabs' - REPORTING TYPES OF FRAUD PREVENTION NEWSROOM ABOUT US each of which will take you yet more information, for instance the 'types of fraud' tab provides more detailed info. various types of fraud (click A-Z of frauds) in that tab. The Prevention tab gives access to advice on the various measure that can be taken and the News tab give details of recent and older frauds. The News tab gives details a current scam just click on that one to expand the selection choices to other recent alerts. Click here 'Actionfraud' to follow the link. | |
ENGLISH road works and delays map | This map covers ENGLAND only. On following the link you will be taken to a map showing all the information. On opening you may find a panel on the right covering part of the map, this can be hidden; look down the left hand edge for something that loks like a right pointing trianle and click it. The panel will slide off to the right and diasappear. It is possible to zoom in [make the area you wish to view larger] and scroll the map across or up and down the screen to sea other areas. In the case of closures what I assume are the 'official' diversion routes will be shown. You may spot other possible routes but BEWARE they may be very narrow in places or unsuitable for larger vehicles | |

Password checker | Following this link will take you to an Open University web page that will allow you to try out the style of any password you intend to use. It will allow you to enter combinations of letters both lower and uppercase, numbers, and other characters. It also explains the 'score' showing deductions for things like double letters etc It is not a game, but have a go to see high a score you get just by varying things slightly. | |

TRAVEL ESSEX | This supplements the current Highways information relating to travelling in Essex. It includes details of a new dial a ride type serviced being trialled to the west of CHelmsford and in the Braintree area using electric mini buses. This may be of interest to anyone that needs to travel into those areas. The new service accepts bus passes, so worth a check. [added 8th July 2022] | |
