Tufty. The sequel
On Tuesday evening 17th December I was visited by the leader of the Shooting Party who wanted details and a photo of the little hen Tuffty who was killed by one of the party's dogs on 3rd December.
Tuffty was a special breed, an Appenzeller. A lovely little hen with blue legs. The owner of the dog that killed the hen is coming down to this area again and wanted the details so that he could find a replacement.
I was very pleased that the incident had not been forgotten and everything handled with respect and look forward to introducing the new hen to her partner, a small white cockerel who has sadly been wandering around aimlessly all alone.
