Javad Hashemi will be presenting "The Mysteries of Persian Painting"
Javad was born in Tehran, Iran and taught at the University of Tehran before coming to England, where he worked in the computer industry and Local Government. He is a keen photographer, lepidopterist and pocillovist. Javad practises Persian miniature painting and enjoys travelling, studying Natural History and researching British ceramics and History.
Persian painting is an imaginative representation of figures and places. The usual subjects are gardens, hunting, polo and poetry. During its several centuries of evolution it had influenced Indian and Ottoman miniature paintings.
