Coffee Mornings
Where: Brookhouse WMC, 221 Barnsley Rd, Wakefield WF1 5NU
When: 3rd Friday of every month, with the exception of August - coffee is served at 10am, which gives an opportunity to meet other members, before our monthly guest speaker takes to the stage.
Who: All members are invited to the monthly coffee morning. A charge is made of £1 for the room rent and refreshments. .

JUNE 16th 2023 - Great fun was had today at the Coffee Morning. The quiz certainly made the brain cells work. The winning team scored 31 points. No prizes, just the joy of winning.
JULY 21st, 2023 - Speaker: Andy Wilson, Engagement Manager for Yorkshire Cancer Research
Topic - Hannah Lacks, an African American woman whose cancer cells were taken without consent and used to generate the HeLa cell line,
which would contribute to numerous medical breakthroughs.
AUGUST 2023 - Coffee morning not held in August
SEPTEMBER 15th, 2023 - It's our 40th anniversary celebration, so you won't want to miss this very special coffee morning which will be extended by 1 hour.
Come along and have a sandwich and a cake and listen to some interesting facts from 1983. Due to having to provide numbers to the caterer, food will only be available to those who respond to the invitation which will be sent out soon. But don't worry, we still want you to come along even if you don't want anything to eat. It's going to be fun.
OCTOBER 20th, 2023 - Speaker: Brian Topping.
Topic - Tales of a customs officer part 2- Mules and Minders. Brian's 2nd visit to us. This time he guides us through the background and history of drug smuggling.
NOVEMBER 17th, 2023 - Speaker: Neil Hanson,
Topic - The Ghostwriter. Neil was a great hit with our members on his last visit. This time he will entertain us with tales of being a ghost writer for, among others, sports stars, showbiz legends, captains of
industry, SAS men, pilots, a treasure diver, an explorer, a kidnap negotiator, an undercover investigator and a spy.
