Monthly Coffee Mornings
The Wakefield & District branch of the U3A meets at West Yorkshire Sports and Social Club, Sandal Hall Close, Sandal, Wakefield, WF2 6ER at 10.00 a.m. on the 3rd Friday of the month.
Members usually start to arrive from 10.00 a.m. and pay £1 entry fee on the door which includes tea or coffee. To support our ethical stance on single use cups, please remember to bring your own cup or mug. We have a book stall where hardback and paperback books are sold and any donations to this are gratefully received. We are also collecting small toiletries to pass on to Pinderfields hospital, the sort of items provided in hotels and contributions are more than welcome.

The coach will leave the Sports Centre at Sandal at 8:30 a.m. returning to Wakefield at approx 6:30 p.m.
The cost of the coach travel is £10 per person. Entry into the Arboretum is free.
Please be aware that this is a very large site and there are various ways of enjoying your visit and seeing as much as possible especially if you are not very mobile.
You can book a place on the land train for a 50 minute tour of the site which costs £5, or a buggy tour lasting 40 minutes at a cost of £6. These must be booked in advance and paid for at the same time as your ticket.
Wheelchairs are free, but a small donation would be appreciated. Power scooters cost £5 to hire. Again these must be booked in advance and paid for at the time of booking.
A guided walking tour is available at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. costing £3.
These are all strictly limited and will be booked on a first come, first served basis.

Armed Forces memorial - 12:30 p.m.
There is a restaurant for a full meal or a coffee shop for just a snack. or you can take a packed lunch. There is also a gift shop.
