At our October meeting, we were delighted to have a presentation from local chocolate makers, GATOS, based in Stonegate. The similarities between wine-making and chocolate-making are remarkable - from the variety of cacao bean or grape, the terroir (that is, the soil, altitude, climate where it is grown) to the art, skill and passion of the maker. All these factors contribute to the aroma, taste and sensation of the final product, be it wine or chocolate.
