Upton and Lytchett u3a Talk: 2nd May at St Dunstan's Church, Upton at 2.30 pm

Our Talk in May is entitled Nature's Wonders - Moments that Mark the Seasons, and will be given by Jane V. Adams, who is a locally-based Nature and Travel Writer.  Jane also gave this Talk, accompanied by a book and colour slides, at last year's Wimborne Literary Festival.  I can't do better than quote from their leaflet:  "With a mix of evocative writing, beautiful photographs and facts...this book explores 50 magical moments that define our seasons...There's butterflies, blossom and bluebells.  There's foxgloves, flying ants and fungi...You'll discover how spiders can heal us and how woodpeckers help to protect sensitive technology".

"The inspiration behind the book is partly the National Trust's hugely successful 'Blossom Watch' campaign, launched in March 2021".

Jane is a passionate amateur naturalist, and has written an award-winning online wildlife diary.  She has been on the BBC's Countryfile programme and Wildlife Magazine.  Some years ago she organised a comprehensive and highly successful 'Bioblitz' for a nearby village and arranged access to all sorts of places normally out of bounds to the general public.
