Long Melford
We had a lovely day for our walk at Long Melford on Wednesday 15 March. Unfortunately due to the week of rain we had prior to the walk some of the fields were rather muddy. One field in particular was flooded and we had to squelch across part of it. Very glad I did not bring Daisy with me! We started up the driveway to Kentwell Hall, after passing the hall we continued onto the Stour Valley Path emerging onto a road by Cranmore Green Farm. We then turned off the road by Mill Farm and encountered our very muddy experience before climbing away from the River Glen to some higher dryer land. We walked up Cranmoregreen Lane and crossed a busy road and continued past Cranfield and followed a track all the way back to Long Melford. We walked up to the church and then cut back to The Hare for a lovely lunch.
