Thetford

Welcome

The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is a Worldwide organisation that provides, through local U3As, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities for retired and semi-retired people. Members come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for the sheer joy of discovery!

In the UK, there are more than 1000 local U3As and Thetford U3A has around 400 members from communities in and around Thetford. We did consider calling it “Brecks U3A” as the area covered is more or less The Brecks in South West Norfolk.

Thetford U3A started in 2014 and is going from strength to strength. It is a registered charity and is wholly dependent upon volunteers. We have monthly meetings in the Carnegie (opposite the Library) on the fourth Thursday of each month at 1:45pm. Meetings are free for members to attend. Most meetings are also open to non-members for a donation of £2, so anyone can come along to find out more.

If you are interested in joining Thetford U3A, you can either come to one of the meetings, download a Membership Form from the Documents page or contact our membership secretary via the Contact page.
