Group talks open to all can be seen on the Events page

Architecture Appreciation
Co-ordinator: Carole Sutton
Meetings: 1st Tuesday in the month, 10.00 – 11.30 a.m., Abbott Hall Social Centre
We usually have a break about halfway through, when a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits are available
.
The group met successfully for the first time on 7 May, 2019 with 21 participants. We followed a varied and successful programme until we were interrupted by the coronavirus.
We have now resumed meetings.

We enjoy both brief lectures from a speaker with a particular knowledge of or interest in a given field, followed by discussion and questions, as well as visits to places of interest both locally and further afield.

In order to encourage more people to take part in the programme of the group, it has been suggested that 3 or 4 people might speak for 5–10 minutes each on their favourite building, saying a little about it, and why they like it so much.

The building could be illustrated by a simple photograph, which could be passed round, in order to minimise the anxiety which some people feel about matters technical.

Arrangements concerning covid restrictions
• Please only come if you have had two or more vaccinations.
• Please wear a face covering, and observe social distancing.
• Please bring the correct meeting fee of £1.50.
• Ventilation of the hall will be maximised. Please wear suitable clothing!

We are a friendly group and welcome newcomers.
