For several summers our Archaeology Group has undertaken a mini-dig. It’s as much a social gathering as a serious archaeological endeavour. Those who want to dig do. Others help wash finds, take photos, provide refreshments, or just help add to the happy atmosphere. It’s always a convivial day, and most years we’ve been blessed with sunshine. We usually we find some evidence of humans, bits of worked flint, pottery, charcoal etc, but we have yet to find any real treasures.
