Our next trip will be on Wednesday September 11th and we are going to Brodsworth Hall and gardens. The house is situated near Doncaster and is run by English Heritage. It has been retained and restored to its original design making it one of the finest examples of a Victorian house and gardens in the country. It was owned by the Thellussons and was designed in the Italian style in 1860. The gardens have been restored to their full Victorian splendour and comprise miniature and grand gardens. We will begin with a cup of coffee or tea and there is a short tour of some of the rooms. Then you are free to wander. There is a tea room for light lunches or cake and tea.

The entrance is free to English heritage members.I hope you can join us. Bookings close on the 4th September.

YAHR SummerSchool at The Hawkhills, Easingwold
5th – 8th August 2019

After a popular and successful summer school in 2017 YAHR have no hesitation in committing to this venue again. It combines excellent conference facilities with luxury hotel standards set in magnificent landscaped gardens and woodland. The venue’s charges have remained unchanged meaning our prices are the same as 2017. Three nights full board £380 and £190 for the day rate.

Wed Aug 28th African Drumming Workshop

On Wednesday 28th August from 10.00am to 12.00 hrs in St Wilfrid Main Hall there will be an African drumming workshop hosted by a professional drum teacher.

This will be a fun session without any serious intent but we will be making "music" by the end of the workshop!

Everybody is welcome (you have to be over 18!) So your partner, husband, wife, friend could also join you.

The drums will be provided so all you have to do is be there.

Advanced booking with payment is essential as there are limited places.
The cost is £10 per person.

There is plenty of on-site parking in what was the school playground!
