Penicuik & District

Reviews

MM -During Covid restrictions and sever winter weather, our u3a Zoom meetings kept us going and connected during times when we couldn’t socialise normally. It’s good to just chat, but the speaker talks, quizzes, photo shows, and coffee mornings etc. have been interesting.

BGW - Our u3a is relatively small (130+ members) but has over 24 interest groups covering a large range of topics. If you want to engage with like-minded people on a subject you are interested in learning about, can I suggest you contact them. You won't be disappointed.

MR - The University of the Third Age is a wonderful organisation. Such a diverse group of people with many interests. During lockdown for me it has been a wonderful help, particularly the Nature Appreciation Group. There are so many interesting topics to learn about and it’s lovely to meet, even though it was by ‘Zoom’ at that time. Don’t be put off by the name, you don’t need to have a University education.

GP - Would I be bored in retirement? Lifelong learning is the spark to keep us mentally active and socially nourished. A wide range of Open meetings and Interest Groups offers opportunity to indulge our current interests and investigate fresh options. Unstoppable even in lockdown, thanks to Zoom.

IH - "It is good to be able to access information about our local u3a, to see what is going on and to keep in touch with other members, particularly in these difficult times."

HSM - Life boring - NEVER! With the Penicuik and District u3a, I've developed old interests, started new ones, learned a lot, helped others and made many new friends.
