Membership
Membership is open to all who are not in full-time employment and are resident in the Penicuik and District area. We are the only u3a in Midlothian.
Our membership application and membership renewal forms are found in the 'Documents' page. If you have issues with printing these forms, please do tell us and we'll get one to you!
Our subscription is £15 for 2024-2025. Members joining after 1st January pay £5 until the March AGM. The full subscription is due at our AGM on the third Thursday in March. Payment can be made by bank transfer (sort code 80-09-39 and account 06001451), by cheque (payable to Penicuik and District u3a) or in cash at a guest speaker meeting.
The subscription covers the cost of guest speaker meetings, administration, national affiliation fees which provide insurance cover and support services, appropriate licences and delivery of a quarterly national magazine.
The annual subscription does not cover the cost of any group activities as they are all self-supporting.

A prospective member may attend a maximum of two monthly or two activity group meetings (if spaces are available) as a guest before deciding to join our u3a. To put your name on a group waiting list, you need to be a u3a member.
