Voices of Hickling
Voices of Hickling has around six members and and now meets on an 'as required' basis. We offer a chance to document many fascinating aspects of local social history through the medium of recording the reminiscences of those who have known the village for a long time. Members undertake to include interviewing, transcribing, sourcing old photographs and ephemera, website preparation and meeting our Voices, which is always a treat. To date, over 30 people have been interviewed and an audio record has been taken.
Material is being assembled on a publicly accessible website:
The website is a work in progress which you are encouraged to revisit from time to time as more information is added.
The group has agreed to enter partnerships with wiseArchive (historic website) and the Norfolk Wildlife Trust in order to gain a wider audience for the website. In October 2019 the work of the group featured in the regional newspaper, the Eastern Daily Press.
