Thank you for visiting our website, which we hope you will find interesting. Please note the u3a is about to introduce a new improved style website format so this 'old style' site may be less up to date than usual.
Halstead and District u3a is one of more than a thousand u3as in England and is an exciting organisation providing life-enhancing opportunities for people who are retired, semi-retired or no longer in regular employment. We are a friendly group of people living in Halstead and the surrounding villages, who wish to come together to take up new interests. Members share their skills and experiences to learn together for enjoyment and pleasure.
We hold a meeting in Halstead's Queens Hall on the first Tuesday of the month starting at 10am.

We have a range of ‘Interest Groups’ which are mostly small, friendly learning units made up of about six to ten members, although some, like the walking group, have more. We encourage and help with the formation of new interest groups to develop a new interest – those who convene the groups do not have to be experts in their subject, just to enjoy sharing their enthusiasm with others. After all, the development of any u3a works by some members convening new ventures as well as participating in ones which already exist.
Membership currently costs £15.00 a year per person.
