July 2023 ride to Lower Lode
The Social Cyclists enjoyed a perfect British summer's day for our ride to the delightful riverside Lower Lode Inn; we feel we've earned a few rides in warm sunshine after riding regularly through the cold and wet of winter.
Our route took us along the cycle path to Maisemore and then quiet back lanes through Hartpury, Tirley, and Chaceley, then down to Lower Lode and fine views of the river with Tewkesbury in the distance.
At 27 miles this was longer than our usual rides but five riders rose to the challenge and were rewarded with outstanding countryside views, a pleasant lunch, and a second stop at the Ashleworth Hub for tea and cake on the way back.
A very enjoyable day out!
