Outing 2018

Our annual outing took place on Thursday 16th August 2018 to Dumfries House.

Set in 2,000 acres, this stunning estate and 18th-Century house was saved by the intervention of His Royal Highness, The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay in 2007.

Dumfries House combines the neoclassical architecture of Robert Adam with the furniture of Thomas Chippendale and leading 18th-Century Scottish cabinet makers and certainly lived up to expectations.

All the staff were very attentive and some of us had lunch which was lovely and served beautifully

The tour guides definitely knew their subject, answering questions confidently and with knowledge.

Even the weather behaved and the sun shone most of the day

Our bus which was supplied by Rennies was very comfortable and our driver Jim was most helpful

Recognition must go to Jean Black who arranged the whole outing and probably most people don't realise just how much work she put into organising it all. Thanks Jean
