Tuesday 7th November 2023

An exciting talk will be delivered by Nadia Sutherland from Alzheimers Scotland. Nadia is going to speak about her work with Dementia Dogs which is an innovative project between Alzheimer Scotland and Dogs For Good. The project supports families living with dementia, both at home and in community settings. Fully trained dogs can be matched and placed into a person's home, where one member of the family is in the early stages of the illness. Nadia has advised that anyone with an allergy to dogs may wish to avoid this talk.

Tuesday 9th Jan. 2024 speaker David Gordon on 50 Years of Dundee Civic Trust.
Tuesday 6th Feb. 2024 speaker Andy Martin. On MAF. Ex RAF personnel fly to poor countries and help isolated communities around the World develop skills.

All at Gilfillan Memorial Church, Whitehall Crescent. Doors open at about 1:15 for early refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits, £1), talks start at 2 pm.

Tue May 7th	Meeting	This months' exciting talk-and the last until after the summer-will be delivered by Jim Ashwood. Jim's talk is entitled: 'America In The Gilded Age.' The American Civil War saw nearly three quarters of a million dead and half as much left with horrific injuries and amputations as Americans fought each other. After the war, Americans had a blank sheet to redraw American aspirations of how they wanted the country to be. Hear how they missed the chance of a physical, moral and spiritual rebirth and transformed into a nation dominated by industrialists, bankers and big business. The talk starts at 2PM and there are always places on the pews so come along and be given a hearty welcome!
Wed May 15th	Social	If the hotel is provisionally booked and DJ Connor is limbering up and the stovies are a given then it must be time for another....... u3a is D-delicious It is I-incredible It is not-S-superficial It is not C-complicated it is O-oh-oh-oh Don’t go by this date as we have to enter one or we don’t get past go!! We’re in the middle of planning some plans and once they are planned your little social team will be in touch! Going to be another cracking event! Watch this space folks!

Thu Jun 6th	Meeting	Roll on those hazy, lazy, crazy days of summer...those days of soda and pretzels and beer... It must be picnic season again...let's have another one. Not sure of the date yet (even though it does say the 6th but can't add an event without ticking all the boxes!) We shall fill our baskets with ham and scotch eggs together with loaves of crusty bread and chocolate buns and raspberry sponge with lashings of ginger beer and fizzy pop to drink...and then we will play some games!!! Further details will follow nearer the time!

Wed Dec 11th	Meeting	Yep! Started already...we have provisionally booked the Invercarse Hotel for our annual Christmas lunch for Wednesday 11 December 2024. What delights will be served up this year and will the fairies make an appearance again?? Further details will follow...but not soon, after all it is only February!
