King John's visit to Wisbech in 1216, when it is said he lost his baggage train in the Wash, is a piece of history we are all familiar with, yet no one really knows the facts. Exploring what we know about that visit, Diane Carlton Smith takes us on a journey with King John to the Wisbech of that time. We visit a town with a great castle at its centre, a town we would hardly recognise today.
