Treasure Trail
In December we usually aim for a walking activity followed by lunch and 2023 was no exception. Members split into small groups to solve the Mystery of the Sunken Press Gang Boss, meeting up at the Dockyard pub in Portsmouth.

Cycling in the New Forest
We were lucky with the weather for our October adventure, cycling in the New Forest. Members cycled along the "Corkscrew Trail" and achieve either 12 or 18 miles depending on whether they completed the full course or not.

Walking Football
When you discover that one of your group members plays in the England walking football team, you have to persuade her to give us all a coaching session. The lovely Jackie was joined by several of her team mates giving us a game to remember!
=======
Segway
Always a favourite with our members, this year several groups were spotted on segways in July, August and September.

Medieval Trio
Would you trust a group of pensioners throwing axes, shooting arrows and using crossbows? Me neither, but that didn't stop us from taking an outing into the New Forest to do just that!

Geochaching
For our April 2023 adventure we visited Alver Country Park for a spot of geocaching - a bit like Letterboxing on Dartmoor, this involves using GPS coordinates to track down and add our name to hidden notebooks. The group as a whole located 2 geocaches with some staying on for an extra half hour to find a 3rd.

Tour of Old Porstmouth
For our December activity we enjoyed a guided tour of Old Portsmouth from Andrew Negus followed by a sociable meal at the Still and West on Spice Island

Go-karts
In November 7 intrepid Adventure4Us members found themselves racing around the track in go-karts at TeamSport Gosport. All survived the experience and we are looking forward to challenging Lewis Hamilton!
=======
Line Dancing
October 2022 saw us learning some basic line dancing steps and dancing along to some spirited tracks. Some members enjoyed themselves so much that they have now taken this up as a hobby.
=======
Watercress Line
In September 2022 the Adventure Group had a day out on the Watecress Line, travelling from Alresford to Alton where we walked the Jane Austen Trail and enjoyed a pub lunch before returning. It was a lovely surprise to find fellow Solent u3a member John Canon at Alresford station, where he looked resplendent in the uniform he wears when he is volunteering there!

Walking with alpacas
June 2022 saw us visiting a alpaca farm near Chichester. Each member led their own alpaca along a woodland track to a pleasant viewpoint, after which we returned to the farm for a talk about how alpaca wool is processed. The alpacas were lovely animals, each with their own distinct personality, and we enjoyed this activity.

Laser Clay shooting
In May 2022, a group of members went laser clay shooting near Ampfield. All arrived safely and everything ran smoothly. Top competition between Malcolm, Peter and George for the top spot and the ladies for the wooden spoon. Good time claimed by all, the host was particularly patient and helpful.
