Sawbridgeworth U3A hold monthly general meetings where members and visitors can socialise, have tea/coffee, make friends, talk to Convenors, and/or book an outing. A guest speaker is invited to talk on a topic of interest. Visitors can attend for free for one time only, thereafter they must become a member. To apply to become a member talk to John Dickenson, Membership Secretary, at the meetings. Alternatively you can email John via our 'Contact' page.
|When are meetings held?||From January 2019 the general meetings will be held on the 3rd Friday of the month, occasionally this can change so check for details.|
|Where are they held?||Sawbridgeworth Memorial Hall, The Forebury, Sawbridgeworth CM21 9EB.|
|At what time?||Doors open at 3pm. Doors close at 4.30pm|
|Outings:||Outings/day trips are organised by Carol Dixson-Smith, and payment is required when a booking is made. A Booking Form is now available and should be completed and passed to Carol or her team, together with your payment. A receipt will be given at the time of payment. Any questions you can email Carol via this website. Select 'Contact' at the top of this website, or you can speak to Carol or one of her team, at the General Meeting.|
IMPORTANT: Due to the inability of several members provisionally booking a trip and not confirming nor paying at the time of booking a new system is now in place. This means that:
All members wishing to make a booking MUST complete a form (available at the general meetings and soon to be on the web and emailed) and attach a non-returnable cheque. Occasionally an outing may be cancelled, e.g. insufficient numbers to make the outing viable. In this case your cheque will be returned. This new system enables the organisers to know how many have made a firm booking and can organise accordingly.
