National u3a partner events

u3a has built partnerships across the UK so we can offer seminars, lectures and visits on a range of subjects including National Gallery, Royal Institution, Guildhall Art Gallery in London, St Fagans in Wales and the educational charity, We the Curious, in Bristol

u3a members have taken part in online events run with NatWest Bank, the British Library and the David Livingstone Birthplace project in Scotland.

u3a has many different types of events on offer, including online, to enthuse and inform our members on a range of interesting subjects. Please see Events on the u3a main site for booking detail. 5-Mar-21


Demonstrations of Beacon for Group Leaders

While face-to-face Beacon demonstrations for Group Leaders are still suspended due to Covid-19 we have started on-line demonstrations on Zoom with a maximum of 2 people at a time.

All our Beacon user documentation has been brought into the Help Centre that will be used to deliver support to Beacon users both now and once the upgrade is delivered. 5-MAY-20

Demonstrations of our new system have now started for all Group Leaders. Contact our website admin to book a time for your group leader(s) 10-JAN-20

Long Eaton & District U3A committee has decided to use this centralised database. BEACON will enable us to improve our administration processes as a charity.

In future we plan to add our Finance records onto the system, and eventually there will be ability to renew membership on-line. Further information on the BEACON system is available on-line on the National U3A website. Click on U3A above

We are a charity

18MAR19 Successful registration of our status as a charity was confirmed. The Committee are continuing to work to finalise procedural issues relating to this change of status.
