A walk through Westminster.
We start at the Houses of Parliament and finish at the Cabinet War Rooms. The walk is just under three miles and is level. Meet at Lewisham mainline station at 10 a.m.

Walk
Richmond to Osterley Lock.
A linear walk of approximately 5 miles from Richmond to Osterley Lock along the towpaths of the Thames and the Grand Union Canal. Meet under the clock at Waterloo Station at 10:30 or at Richmond Station at 11:06. We will be passing Richmond Green, crossing Richmond Lock (Grade II* listed structure opened 1894), passing Old Deer Park, Syon Park and the Brentford Gauging Lock before a pub lunch at The Weir (no relation but where painter J.M.W. Turner lived for a short while and produced his first watercolours). We will then continue beside the Grand Union Canal up to Osterley Lock and return from Boston Manor underground station at approximately 15:00.

Sailing around the UK.
A description of a journey sailing around the UK to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The talk will cover all aspects of this journey, wildlife, sea and weather conditions.

HolidayU3A Summer holiday, 28th June - 2nd July 2020
The Olde Barn Hotel, Grantham, Lincolnshire.
Next year our U3A holiday will be in Lincolnshire. We will be staying at the Olde Barn Hotel in en-suite rooms with TV, free internet access and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a lounge, bar, an indoor heated swimming pool, a lift giving full access to the hotel at all levels and 24 hour reception.
Single (no supplement) and twin/double en-suite rooms, £449 per person.

British Service women’s Path to Combat.
This talk explains how women were integrated into each of the armed forces and how they came to be accepted in combat roles. From serving in both World Wars, to the decision in 1990 that women could serve at sea, this history explains how women came to gain military status, the debate about weapons training and, finally, the opening of combat roles.
