This is about the social events that were held before the pandemic and what we plan to get back to as soon as safety considerations will allow. There is no age limit for membership but, as the U3A is for people with some time to spare, we are mainly retired people doing what we want to rather than what our family thinks we should be doing! U3A is for all us misguided retirees who thought that we would have loads of spare time after work.

We are affiliated to the U3A Third Age Trust in order to benefit from some aspects of the world wide organisation whilst remaining locally independent. As with all of the groups the socials are largely resourced from our membership, but we do get outside speakers to widen our interests, in fact we welcome anyone to share their interest with the group.

It is amazing how much charitable work is going on in the area, but one of the important aspects, as the name implies, is the ability of like minded people of our age and common interests to get together for an hour or two and have a chat, a laugh and maybe learn something new.
