Holderness

Local history

The Local History Group meet the 1st Thursday of the month at the Camerton Pub in Thorngumbald at 2 pm and we look forward to welcoming new members.

We plan a programme of subjects to be discussed in advance, these subjects relating to history in the Holderness area. Any member of the group who wishes to can research that subject and the group then pool their findings at the meeting. However, if anyone does not wish to do any research that is fine, they can just come along and it is always interesting and enlightening to listen to the discussion.

The program of subjects for 2020 is as follows:

5 December 2019 Talk by Carol Osgerby entitled “Wives, Widows, Workers & Witches”

9 January 2020 Talk on Archaeology in Holderness
