Welcome to the Ashburton U3A Website

Welcome to the website of Ashburton University of the Third Age (U3A). The U3A is an opportunity for those people no longer in full time employment to share a variety of educational, creative and leisure activities.

There are a variety of interest groups from which to choose, each group is lead by members with the relevant knowledge, experience or just enthusiasm for the subject. Subjects we cover vary from Languages through to Food & Drink Appreciation, Family History, Music Appreciation and Walks. The groups vary in size and determine their own content, when they meet and their own programme of events.

Please note: The Monthly Meetings will normally be held in the Town Hall, on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 2.15pm to 4.00pm. Please check the Events page for any changes to this schedule.

At each Monthly Meeting we normally have an invited guest speaker. The current programme of talks can be viewed by selecting the Events button on the main menu. These Monthly Meetings are also a good opportunity for members to find out about the various groups; suggest the formation of a new group or to just socialise.

There is an annual subscription, currently £12 per person, to cover some of the running expenses, the hire of the rooms, the monthly speakers' fees and a contribution to the U3A Third Age Trust which includes insurance and a U3A News magazine.

Guests are welcome to attend up to two U3A activities or events at a charge of £2:00 per attendance. Future attendance will be possible only if visitors become members of the U3A.

To join simply go to the Contact page and follow the instructions, or come and join us at one of our monthly meetings - see Events .
