O- Wild Flower Walks 2020
Six – seven leisurely paced walks of 2-6 miles allow time to identify some of the common and not so common wild flowers in the countryside. We visit locations within a 35-mile radius of York where there is a good assemblage of wild flowers. Group members make their own way to the venues, but it may be possible to arrange car sharing after the first walk. A notebook, wild flower identification book(s) and a hand lens are useful. Walks usually finish by mid-afternoon. A picnic lunch and drinks are required and it is recommended a waterproof jacket and insect repellent are carried. Some of the paths can be uneven, slippery or steep so walking boots are advisable.
The dates and locations of walks will be sent to group members in February 2020.
If the group is oversubscribed and there is sufficient interest a second group will be formed also meeting on Mondays but with fewer walks.
