Our next walk is on Thursday, 12 March 2020

This is a moderate undulating walk, about 6 miles, from the Lord Stones Country Park, in the North Yorks Moors National Park (GR 523030).
It skirts the edge of Cringle Moor, following a lower path on the Cleveland Way, then a route along dales between the moors, over fields and through woodland.
Expect parts to be wet (poles advised) and there are some stiles. Refreshments afterwards in the on-site cafe.

Road route: A19 north from York, leave at the Cleveland Tontine for the A172 Stokesley Road. Turn right off this road after about 5 miles to Carlton in Cleveland, also signed for Lord Stones. Drive through Carlton Village and continue up Carlton Bank on the Chop Gate Road: the Lord Stones car park and cafe are slightly hidden on the left, (but signed on the right), just over the summit. (PC TS9 7JH).

Alternatively, via Helmsley, the B1257 to Chop Gate; turn left for the Carlton Road and the Lord Stones car park.
