We walk over varying types of terrain, mainly in the Howardian Hills, Yorkshire Wolds. North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales. Members take turns to lead walks of approximately 10 miles in length and everyone makes their own way to the starting point in time for a start at 10.30am prompt. There is a short stop for a drink during the morning and a somewhat longer one for a picnic lunch. Finishing time varies with the precise length and nature of the walk, but is normally mid-afternoon.
Walking boots and waterproofs are essential, and you should bring sufficient food and drink for the day. The group warmly welcomes new members, but no dogs please.
Group walks are restarting under the UK government regulations for Covid-secure organised outdoor sport: a risk assessment is completed for each walk, supported by general guidelines for a safe walk and some modifications to our normal practices, which all participants must observe.
