W- Revisiting the Classics

This group offers the opportunity to re-read books and reflect on them, noting how one’s impression of or feeling about them has changed over time.

However, it is also a chance to “visit” a well-known author or novel, British or otherwise, for the first time and catch up on “essential” reading.

Titles will be proposed by the group and members will participate by each introducing a book each year, as well as taking part in the general discussions.

For 2020-2021 we are choosing books from the BBC list of 100 Novels That Shaped Our World.

Forthcoming books are 'O Pioneers' (Willa Cather) on 31 July (by email); 'The Shipping News' (E Annie Proulx) on 26 Sept (Zoom), and 'Brave New World' (Aldous Huxley) on 31 October (Zoom).
