L- Language and Linguistics

What it is: This group aims to explore all aspects of language and the way we use it, including conversation, language learning, language change, dialects and the language of literature. Members are invited to suggest topics, and offers to lead sessions are very welcome. This is not a course covering a set syllabus, nor is it a foreign language course. Rather, it is an on-going meeting to explore mainly the English language; while we do sometimes refer to other languages, no linguistic knowledge is assumed.

When it is: 2.00 - 4.00 pm, 2nd Thursday in month

Where it is: Friends Meeting House

Cost: £2.00 per session
