York

Travel

There are two Travel Sections in York u3a, run by volunteer members, the two sections focus on different destinations. In both cases the trips are open to ALL York U3A members.

UK Travel - Five day trips are organised each year by the travel committee, usually by coach, to various destinations in the UK. There are also short breaks, including 1 or 2 nights stay in hotels, and monthly day trips within a 75 - 100 miles radius of York.

Overseas Travel - This group arranges holidays to Europe and beyond, usually of 7-10 days duration. You can contact the group leader for further details via our Groups page, and also register to receive updates.

All trips are advertised in the York u3a newsletter, together with the relevant booking forms.

HOW TO BOOK

  • Trips organised by the Travel Committee are open to ALL York U3A members. Simply apply using a Booking Form that will be available here or in a newsletter, as and when trips can next be organised.
  • After a short waiting period to allow responses to come in following the announcement of a trip, the Bookings organiser allocates places on a "random draw" basis. Further bookings received are then treated on a "first come first served" basis.
  • If a trip is fully booked, you will be contacted by phone and put on a waiting list. If a place then becomes available, you will be contacted again.
