P- Gardening for Learners
What it is: This is a new group for ALL gardeners, as all good gardeners are constantly learning! The leader, Jane Thurlow, is an experienced gardener and trainer with a large garden which has been featured on BBC Gardeners World. She is keen to encourage anyone to benefit from the activity of gardening in some way, growing fruit, vegetables or flowers. This group will offer practical activities, learning opportunities and mutual support for all. It aims to provide a varied programme to which everyone can both contribute and enjoy.
When it is: 10.30 am – 12.30 pm, monthly mostly on Thursdays
Where it is: Indoor meetings at The Harriet Centre, York Cemetery, Cemetery Road which is on a bus route and with some parking (see programme). Visits around the York area either on bus/train routes or with possibilities for car sharing.
Cost: £15 per calendar year to include refreshments when meeting in halls. Note there may be occasional extra costs for visits/speakers or refreshments at garden visits.
Additional: Offers to suggest, lead or research sessions very welcome. It is hoped that some members may be brave enough to invite the group to their own garden eventually!
