Welcome to U3A Wymondham

About the U3A

U3A stands for the University of the Third Age and was founded during the 1970s in France, now world-wide, for people in their "Third Age" - their retirement or semi-retirement age.

There are over 330,000 U3A members in the UK to date. The U3A is apolitical, non-denominational, and non- profit making. Why not watch the video at the bottom of this page to learn more and then come back here to continue reading about your local Wymondham branch, what we are about and how you might join.

U3A Wymondham

Is an extremely friendly group of retired, or semi-retired, people from the market town of Wymondham and the surrounding villages. It was founded in 2001, and continues to expand and thrive and as of January 2018, we have over 40 interest groups and 380 members. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for all our members to share friendship, knowledge, skills and experiences, whilst at the same time having a lot of fun.

A good place to go after reading this section would be our Groups Page. Many of these groups are held in the homes of our members which leads to a warm and friendly atmosphere - and you may get a cup of coffee too!

You could also visit our Events page for a list of upcoming meetings and diary of events.

We always welcome new members and would encourage you to visit our Membership page for an application form to join U3A Wymondham.

Should you require further information regarding membership then please send a message to 'Membership Enquiries' on our Contacts Page or why not come to one of our informal coffee mornings. They are held every Thursday at 10 am in the Tiffey Room, Central Hall, Wymondham - we'd be delighted to see you there. Directions for reaching Central Hall can be obtained by clicking the link on the right of this page.
