Wymondham

Groups

Wymondham u3a has a range of interesting groups, many of which meet monthly in members' homes. This limits the size of each group, but enhances participation.

Each group is led by a Leader (or perhaps more), who may be a specialist in that field, or may simply act as a convener with everyone learning/participating together. The group members decide how and what they will study and when they will meet. A small charge may be made to meet costs.

Group Leaders are also u3a members and give their services without payment. Activities organised by Wymondham u3a automatically have Public Liability Insurance cover through the Third Age Trust, provided the activity leader is a u3a member. This is to protect Trust Officers, Group Leaders, Members, and The General Public, for damage to property or person(s) caused as part of the activity. There is a process in place to make sure that the activities undertaken within Wymondham u3a are as safe as possible.

Wymondham u3a has a duty of care to its membership, and each member of a group has a duty of care that applies to each other and to themselves. In order to ensure your safety we need to be able to contact someone who can meet your welfare needs in the event of a serious incident/accident. Only minimal information regarding members' emergency contact which includes a name, telephone number and the details of their relationship to the member is required. They need to be informed that they have been identified as your emergency contact and that you have provided that information to Wymondham u3a.
