The meetings are held every first Thursday afternoon in the month and several of our members are happy to play host in their homes.

Our May project was to photograph ‘round things’ which was not as easy as first thought. However, there were, as always, interesting and well thought out contributions and the ones shown here were voted by the group as the ‘favourite’ from the selection put forward by each member.

The monthly subject project for February 2019 was ‘Reflections’. Several members spent a gloomy morning around the Southwater and shopping area of Telford and those that could not make this venue provided photographs from elsewhere. These 8 photographs provided by each group member, portray the various aspects of the subject, of which some are self-explanatory and others maybe a little more challenging but hopefully all are interesting.

We also regularly meet for a “photo-shoot” to practice our skills in the field (or the street, or the garden, or the historic site)! If we do not have a day out we will have a project such as light and shadow or a seasonal subject. Another of our activities is an annual project which we pursue as individuals. A theme is chosen, this year being ‘Forms of Nature’ and we take our photographs over twelve months and then share our best work at our end of year meeting.
At our meetings we show our pictures and try to give constructive criticism so that we will take better photographs next time. We also try to fit in some discussion about how to use our cameras better and also how to use photo editing programmes.
Our members range from those with some considerable knowledge to those who are taking new cameras out of the box for the first time. It’s a shared experience and we all help each other
