We also regularly meet for a “photo-shoot” to practice our skills in the field (or the street, or the garden, or the historic site)! If we do not have a day out we will have a project such as light and shadow or a seasonal subject.
Another of our activities is an annual project which we pursue as individuals. A theme is chosen, this year being ‘A Local Village Through the Year’ and we take our photographs over twelve months and then share our best work at our end of year meeting.
At our meetings we show our pictures and try to give constructive criticism so that we will take better photographs next time. We also try to fit in some discussion about how to use our cameras better and also how to use photo editing programmes.
Our members range from those with some considerable knowledge to those who are taking new cameras out of the box for the first time. It’s a shared experience and we all help each other.
