The Group meets at Worksop Library, the 3rd Monday of the Month. 1745 - 1945

Hello everyone,

Most of you will know that the Cricket Club is out of action for the next few months, so we have booked our January and February meetings at:
SHIREOAKS VILLAGE HALL
Shireoaks Road
Shireoaks
Worksop
S81 8LX

The Photographic Group was set up 10 years ago by Margaret Wade. There are two Co-ordinators; Roger Hancock and Colin Brenchley.

For more information please contact The Group Co-Ordinator Roger Hancocks at Photo Group

Worksop u3a Photo Group The group is a mixture of photographers, ranging from novice beginners to the more experienced.
At each meeting we have discussions concerning various subjects regarding composition of photos or the technical aspects of various facilities on today’s modern cameras. Additionally we also touch on some aspects of computer editing software.

Well, 2018 proved to be a successful year for the increasingly popular Photo group. We now have 35 members.

Every month, we all send 3 images of a set subject to Colin who then puts them all together on an AV with music to be shown during the meeting for us all to enjoy. He also shows the images individually to allow him to critique each one and for the members to advise and add any comments.

We are a varied bunch of photographers – some of us use basic cameras to the more advanced SLR. We have some really good photographers who are always willing to impart their knowledge and help the “novices”

There has been a noticeable improvement in the quality of our photographs over the last year, with members producing some brilliant images – something to be proud of!!

In December, the members each submitted their favourite photo of the year. Votes were then cast by the group to select the best.
An image entitled “Coming Home” by Jean Merriman was chosen. Well done Jean!
