St John’ Library from October 2021
Jan Anderson Kaye
Maximum number of reading members including the leader – 12
This group studies and reads Shakespeare’s play and poems. When possible, the leader shows film clips from various productions to support the study of the play.
It is acceptable for any member to simply listen in during the play reading and this should be indicated to the leader ahead of the session. Parts are usually cast ahead of the event to provide an opportunity for participants to prepare. Cast lists are sent out via email. An effort is made to share parts as evenly as possible, but most plays have a mix of small and large parts, and it is not always possible for everyone to read on every occasion.
A room has been reserved at St John’s library, Worcester for the 5 autumn sessions which are currently scheduled for October 12th, 26th, November 23rd, December 7th, 21st between 2pm – 4pm. However, because of Covid restrictions it is quite likely that the first session at least will be held via Zoom so that the leader may discuss restrictions and requirements with the group in a safe situation. The position will be confirmed nearer the time.
Because of a numbers restriction members wishing to join the group should contact the leader before attending to be certain that there is space. At a Zoom event it is possible to become a non-reading or discussion member and new members might prefer this option.
The group is currently full. New enquiries will be dealt with in sequence via the waiting list
