The Group is a collegiate of people who are interested in, and want to examine and understand economics that have an influence on contemporary issues. All members are encouraged to take part in collective discussion and to make their own individual contributions.
Individual sessions are divided int two parts. Part 1. A presentation on a specific issue.
Part 2. Open discussion on recent economics issues. Some might be further taken up in individual presentations.
The group is suitable for anyone who has a broad interest in economic issues and is willing to prepare a presentation to the group. This is not a taught course. Informed critical discussion is expected.
Some of the topic we have discussed in the 20172018 session were: Citizens Wage. Bitcoins and Interest Rates.
On September 24 (the first session of 2018-2019) the presentation will be on Bases rates, quantative easing and mortgages. In subsequent sessions will be on Pensions and Derivates.
What ever the session do bring along a current issue that you have found interesting and would like to group to comment on it.
