Photography - Practical
At Ombersley Road Methodist Church - Large Hall, postcode WR3 7BW on Tues at 1000hr.
Leader and Contact: Lawrence Keen
Our main interest is with camera control, taking of photographs and post processing, sometimes this will involve (voluntary) assignments and live shoots at the meetings. We also plan to visit various locations for the last three meetings of the season where we can jointly put into practice skills that have been covered during the year.
We support this activity with practical demonstrations at most meetings and view tutorials and videos about the subject on our large screen, these cover the use of the controls and techniques available for the cameras and software we use.
Members are also encouraged to bring (USB Flash Drive) or send their own images to the Group Flickr page so that successes can be shared with others or advice sought as to where further work could improve the image.
From time to time we will also examine the work of leading photographers around the World to see what we can learn or how we can get inspiration from their work.
Our members have a range of skill levels, however, we aim to retain the interest of everyone by incorporating into every meeting a certain amount of revision which enables new members to feel part of the Group from the start and at the same time provide reinforcement of important aspects of photography and software for the more advanced.
This year we plan to use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Elements as they are market leading in image organisation & manipulation software and offer tremendous scope for making the best of photographs. There are several other makes of RAW editors & software packages available and we will endeavour to relate the Lightroom and Elements menus to the versions our members use.
