Photography - Practical
At Ombersley Road Methodist Church - Large Hall, postcode WR3 7BW on Tues at 1000hr.
Leader and Contact: Andy Hawes
Our main interest is with the processing of the images once they have been taken but we also consider aspects of taking the pictures and sometimes this involves (voluntary) assignments.
We seek to achieve this aim with practical demonstrations at every meeting and carefully chosen tutorials by professionals gleaned from the web. These cover the use of the tools and techniques available in the software that we use.
Members are also encouraged to bring their own images to the Group (either on a memory stick or CD) so that successes can be shared with others or advice can be sought as to where further work could improve the image.
From time to time we will also examine the work of leading photographers around the World to see what we can learn or how we can get inspiration from what they have done. This is usually based on images gleaned from the Internet.
Our members have a range of skill levels but we aim to retain the interest of everyone by incorporating into every meeting a certain amount of revision which enables new members to feel part of the Group from the start and at the same time provides reinforcement of important aspects of the software for those who have used it before.
Photoshop ELEMENTS is the chosen software because it is the market leader and offers tremendous scope for making the best of photographs as well as giving fantastic value for money. There are also many books written about using the software and a vast range of free video tutorials on youTube.
