JOINING OPTIONS

OPTION 1: JOIN ONLINE

VERY IMPORTANT

1. If you have been a member of Worcester u3a in the past (including as a GUEST member), please email Membership before joining online as a new member. Please do not join as a new member without checking this.
2. Please do not pay your membership fee online until you are satisfied that the group(s) you want to join have spaces. Groups that are full already are shaded grey on the Groups Page (or you can check with the Group Leader via the contact name on the Group’s information page).

Worcester Area Group u3a offers 3 classes of membership. The fees below are for the period 1 January 2024 - 31 August 2024:

Standard Membership(Members of any interest/activity groups except those shown below as Standard Plus Membership)£25
Standard Plus Membership(Members of weekly Duplicate Bridge, Rubber/Chicago Bridge, Bridge Beginners, Film Appreciation, Pickleball Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4, Art - Oil Painting, or French Year 3)£34

If you have completed a Gift Aid declaration we can claim Gift Aid on £12 of your subscription fee.

Concessionary Membership

From time to time we have been asked about the possibility of providing concessionary membership. This year is likely to be more challenging for many people because of the steep rise in the cost of food and heating. In response, we are making concessionary membership available for 2023-2024 and, depending on the response, this could be repeated in future years.

Concessionary membership is 50% of the Standard or Standard Plus Subscription Fee and is open to those who can show evidence of receiving Pension Credit or Universal Credit through a 'Proof of Benefit Letter'. Applications should be made to the Membership Secretary and will be treated confidentially and on an individual basis.

The Worcester u3a online payment page is hosted by PayPal. You do not have to have a PayPal account to use this page, since you can choose to 'Check out as a Guest' and then use your Debit or Credit Card. You will find the ‘Guest’ option by scrolling down to the bottom of the PayPal page. Please note, PayPal will not open a PayPal account for you when you use your debit or credit card.

After joining you will receive notification from the Worcester u3a PayPal account confirming that your payment has been processed successfully. You will also receive an email from Worcester u3a with an image of your membership card attached and the username and passwords to access protected documents on the website. Please print this image (or save it on your phone) as you may be asked to show it at meetings. If this email does not come through within a few minutes, first check your spam/junk mailbox in case it has gone there. If it isn’t there, email Membership

OPTION 2: PAY BY CHEQUE OR ELECTRONIC BANK TRANSFER AND SEND MEMBERSHIP FORM BY POST

Paying by cheque

Please make your cheque payable to Worcester Area Group u3a. Please write your membership number on the reverse of the cheque.

Paying by Electronic Bank Transfer (sometimes called BACS)

You can now pay for your subscription by sending the payment directly from your bank to ours instead of sending us a cheque. Here is the information you need to set up the payment from your bank account.
