Poetry and Play Reading
Are you interested in a fun group for which you need little or no preparation?
If you like stories (doesn’t everyone?) why not come along and share your favourite poems or stories (or excerpts) or read out a part in a drama script – or just listen if you want to.
The plays read include ‘Boeing Boeing’ by Marc Camoletti, ‘Our Day Out’ by Willy Russell, ‘A View from the Bridge’ by Arthur Miller and plays including: ‘Womberang’ and ‘Bazaar & Rummage’ by Sue Townsend which she wrote before her ‘Adrian Mole’ days.
We laughed a lot which was definitely good for us. In June 2019 we read 4 short Sherlock Holmes plays.
We have also read a variety of poems (some by members of the group) and prose extracts, chosen by the group. Pam Ayres and Jenny Joseph were favourites.
Coffee and biscuits: £1.00
Group Leader: Liz Goes
The Group meets at 10.30 am on the second Monday of the month in Bordon Library.
