Walking
Co-ordinator : Linda Moreland
The programme for August to December 2022 is being finalised. If you wish to join us on a walk please do not hesitate to contact me.
We would like walkers to continue taking a mask and hand sanitizer with them and to keep to government guidelines on social contact and physical distancing.
The group meets on varying days so that all members have a chance to participate. Walks vary from easy rambles of less than 4 miles to more strenuous longer walks up to 10 miles - the average being 5 miles sometimes over undulating terrain. Pub lunch/ or a picnic. Walk dates are listed below. Additional details for walks are sent out by email about a week before each walk.
If you accept a lift with another member, it is customary to make a contribution of two to four pounds, depending on distance and numbers sharing, towards the cost of travel.
We have been advised by the u3a National Walking
Coordinator to inform all walkers of the following:
Please note that under no circumstances will u3a or its representatives be responsible for loss of life, personal injury, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property. It is the responsibility of members to make their own arrangements to insure against such risks if required.
Although risks are kept to a minimum, as with any physical activity, accidents can occur. Please be advised that in the event of an accident, neither u3a nor walk leaders will be held responsible.
