Latin

Co-ordinator : Michael Clement
01902 426024.

We study the Latin language and classical Roman history and culture through prose and poetry. We prepare in advance our own translations of classical texts then compare notes in our meetings to come to a consensus reading. We debate vocabulary, grammar, etymology and style to come to a better understanding of life in an empire that stretched from Scotland to Egypt.

Meetings take place on alternate Monday afternoons in the homes of group members.

We currently have room for one more member. People new to Latin are welcome.
