Singing for Fun
We meet once a month for an informal sing along. We are not a choir- you do not need any particular musical ability, and you do not need to be able to read music. You don't have to attend every month.
We sing well known and popular songs mostly from the 1950s and 60s, pop and rock and folk, and songs from films and shows, plus a few traditional songs. We give out song lyric sheets on the day. We have a pianist and two acoustic guitar players to accompany the singing.
We meet at 10:00 a.m. on the second Thursday of every month at Wollaton Cricket Pavilion. There is some off street parking, and ramped level access to the venue, which is heated and has ground floor toilets. Usually between twenty and thirty members attend. The room we use is a large comfy lounge, and there is a kitchen. We can accommodate up to fifty people.
The cost is £2 payable on the door, which includes free tea coffee and biscuits. We start singing around 10.10, break for refreshments around 10.50, then finish singing by about 11.40.
To get in touch, please contact the Interest Groups Coordinator, using the link on the Contacts Page. Or just come along to our next meeting and we can sign you up on the day.
Singing is good for your health and well being. We hope to see you soon. Stephen D. convenor.
