We usually meet as follows, however all meetings have been suspending due to the corona virus.
- Wollaton Library
- 2nd Friday monthly
- 10.00 a.m. - 12 noon
A group of interested gardeners met in April 2019 to plan the future of our new Gardening Group. We will be holding the meetings on the second Friday of each month. The meetings have been very successful so far and we have had good ideas, hints and tips being swapped between group members, with lively discussions on a wide range of gardening topics. The next meeting will take place on (TO BE ADVISED) in the meeting room at Wollaton Library. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided by the group. The charge is £2.00 each to cover the room hire.
The group is very friendly and is open to both new and experienced gardeners, with or without a garden, and is for anyone who has an interest in learning more about plants and gardening and who would like to share their knowledge. We have group led meetings with a good exchange of ideas and advice.
We have our usual "Sharing Table" for plants, seeds, produce, books and magazines - which is proving very popular with the members.
The group has visited the Walled Garden at Wollaton Park and had a very interesting tour around the garden which is in the process of being renovated. Also we have visited the U3A Allotment Groups' plot at Canalside Allotments which was very enjoyable and we treated ourselves to soft drinks and cakes in the lovely surroundings.
We have a reserved place for a new member in the new year, following which we have decided that the group will be closed for new members.
