Long time Witham and District u3a members Ken and Diane Measom are involved in a fundraising campaign to support the charity helping Ken with his rare blood condition.
As you know, the couple have had to give up their running of the Bird watching Group because of this.
Ken was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) early last year.
It affects his white blood cells and hence his immune system.
Difficult in these worrying Covid times as you can imagine.
His treatment involves a week of daily injections at the Broomfield Hospital chemo unit.
To start, it was every four weeks, but, now every six weeks.
As with all cancer charities, funds have been in short supply recently.
"SO A 20-20 CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN SET UP IN WHICH KEN IS PARTICIPATING"
As the name suggests,it involves doing 20 tasks in 20 days set between the dates of September 20th to November 20th.
Ken said he will paint 20 paintings in the 20 days between "OCTOBER 12 AND OCTOBER 31".
This fits in well with his current treatment cycle. "THAT'S ONE EVERY DAY!"
So we are asking very nicely, if you will give a donation, which can be done by the following Just Giving page:
To show how things are progressing, photos of his paintings, will be posted on the charity's special donation page and also on this web page.
